The soft colours of dusk are mirrored in layers of rugged sandstone escarpments and forested valleys which stretch towards the distant horizon. This is a sweeping panorama approximately 800 metres above sea level showcasing the scale and beauty of this unique Australian landscape. In the foreground, native eucalypts and hardy grasses cling to the edge of the plateau, while fading light casts subtle shadows across the ancient terrain below.
Blackdown Tableland is renowned for its dramatic cliffs, diverse plant life and cultural significance to the Traditional Owners of the region. Rising above the surrounding plains, the plateau provides spectacular views across the Central Highlands and protects a range of ecosystems found nowhere else in the area. As daylight fades, the landscape takes on a tranquil atmosphere, highlighting the remoteness and natural grandeur of the park.
