Images Wanted – Editorial Use Only

AgriPix’s Editorial Use Only licence exists to preserve and make available authentic images that document Australian agriculture, regional communities and rural industries, even when they cannot be licensed for commercial advertising.

Editorial images help tell the real story of Australian farming. They capture the people, machinery, businesses, products, events and moments that shape agriculture every day.

These images are often highly sought after by newspapers, magazines, online news services, industry organisations, educators, researchers, historians, government agencies and documentary producers.

What is an Editorial Use Only licence?

An Editorial Use Only licence allows an image to be used for purposes such as:

• News reporting
• Journalism
• Educational publications
• Research
• Historical documentation
• Commentary and analysis
• Books and magazines
• Documentary productions
• Agricultural industry publications
• Blogs discussing factual events or issues

Editorial images cannot be used to advertise, promote or endorse a product, company, service or political cause. They are intended to inform, educate or document rather than sell.

Because the image is not being used for advertising, many photographs that would otherwise require model or property releases can still be licensed for editorial purposes.

Privacy considerations

This doesn’t imply that these images don’t require appropriate release forms just because they’re being published under an editorial licence.

Images containing recognisable minors ALWAYS require a signed model release form from a parent or legal guardian.

The same apples to proprietary processes and applications if they’re considered sensitive to a brand or company’s trademarked operations.
