Seal Creek Beach Robert Frew
Seal Creek Beach stretches along the wild coastline of Cape Arid National Park on Western Australia's south coast, where brilliant white sand meets the turquoise waters of the Southern Ocean. In this image, gentle waves roll ashore beneath windswept coastal dunes covered in native vegetation, creating a scene of remarkable natural beauty and isolation. The sweeping shoreline, crystal-clear water and untouched coastal landscape reflect the remote character of this spectacular part of Australia. Far from major population centres, the beach offers a sense of tranquillity and wilderness that has changed little over time.
Cape Arid National Park is renowned for its pristine beaches, coastal walks, four-wheel-drive adventures, fishing, camping and nature photography. The surrounding waters support diverse marine life, including dolphins, Australian sea lions and migrating southern right and humpback whales, while the coastal heathlands provide habitat for numerous native bird and animal species.
The land and waters in and around Cape Arid National Park are the ancestral home of the Ngatjumay and Wudjari (or Mirning) peoples. The area is known to the traditional owners as Gauroojeninya. This image captures the enduring beauty, cultural significance and ecological richness of one of Western Australia's most remote coastal landscapes.
